Birds are still migrating through, and today, a merry group of Grackles, RWBB, Cowbirds and Starlings visited and used the amenities. Starlings love to bath, no matter what the temperature, and they leave a mess. I would love to hear if there is an explanation for their love of water.

It's always funny to see their reactions when something gets changed. Skelly is out and about, helping to feed the birds 💀 (This is the Humbirdy feeder cam again.) #birds

The weather was gorgeous today, and I did not have pressing deadlines, so I planted some more native flower seeds and worked on a furniture refinish I have been playing with. I saw more Juncos, the Carolina Wren, and a Grack! (The water is murky from Black Walnut leaves and got replenished.) #birds

Happy to report that the Juncos have made it here today. I felt like I heard them all week but never spotted one. There was also a Carolina Wren, which I see rarely, and at night, it's the opossum sibling show right now. These were taken with the FlexCam. I did put my thick downy comforter in today,

When I saw this silly little tub at the thrift store this weekend, I had to get it 😆 These are the first visitors, I hope one of them will also take a bath. For whatever reason birds really seem to enjoy individual offerings of water as well as food. I guess they cut out competition a bit. #birds

I took some much needed time off and spent this weekend with family in the beauty of northern Michigan. The night sky was amazingly dark and I put a camera out. My ISO was too low, the angle is a bit off and there is some light pollution for a bit but you can still tell how awe-inspiring it was.

More hummingbirds, because why not? 🙂I find it so intriguing that these guys are so incredibly small but still a full proper bird. And when you slow them down a bit like here, you get to see that. The hovering is super cool but I also love seeing them sit. #birds

It is so nice to see opossums in the yard again. I always wanted to see a mama carrying the babies around but never have. Now last night, the female that has been coming visited, and I had seen her big pouch before. And last night, I spotted signs of bebes 😍

Hummingbirds can be so particular about their feeders. For weeks, I've been trying to get some photos in this spot, and they would not show up, but just as I put this feeder there, they are back 😆 As you can see, the whole family is out, female, male and a youngster with throat feathers emerging. 🐦

I got to try out a new feeder cam! This is the Humbirdy/ Soliom SH66. It is from the same company as the hummer cam that I used this summer. This one also has the 4K and razor sharp footage and does not require a subscription. It will also

New feeders take their time, even more so right now, but I am finally seeing a bit more action and variety, here at the Humbirdy feeder, including kissies from a Redbellied 😄. I've heard some Grackles and RWBB this week, and this morning, one of them visited there too. Come good into the weekend!

I've been having fun with the Flex cam recently, stalking the Cardi babies 😂 I have moved it around too but like this ground position the best so far. It's been very nice to be able to check in an app what happened over night. This is something

These two ladies eclosed yesterday in the afternoon, and then we had rain and thunderstorms, so I decided to let them spend one more night in the enclosure and released them just a bit ago. It is a bit windy but the sun is out, and I had them both on my hand and put them in the apple tree #nature

A little night garden ballet. Migration is beginning, and many of the summer guests have already left and things are a bit quiet. A good time to use cameras for plant timelapses! Here are Black-eyed peas and a squash. It's fascinating to me how much they move at night. #nature #timelapse
