We have supply currently, what we lack is storage capacity. The result is we have 3-5 days in the cupboard if the world goes mad and supply dries up. Increasing capacity to even out the bumps in supply and buy standby when prices are lower is surely relatovely cheap. Meanwhile we push transition.
Again, capacity planning is an issue. We can generate power but we can't store it. Our current solution is to pay generators to stop and use fossil fuels to fill in any local gaps in supply if there is sudden demand. Inefficient and costly to consumers and nature.

Time to investigate which politicians and their family members will benefit or have business interests in these decisions going through, it smacks of corruption now especially after research shows in number of reports this will not help secure energy security.
