The issue at the heart of the French protests? Debt. France is spending way more than it’s taking in. It can’t print more money (bc it uses the euro) and trying to cut spending is causing massive upheaval. Debt is plaguing countries all over the world—we may see more moments like these in 2027. 🇫🇷

Nice report, but I find the necklace ... distracting. Just sayin'.

They can raise more taxes. Come on now.
Take if from the billionaires and redistribute towards social programs. Problem solved.
Are you able to articulate why France is in such a financial crisis?
Also the youth are protested being driven off the climate change cliff and replaced by AI
The most obvious option is closing loopholes and cracking down on French billionaire tax cheats. That would raise 20 Billion euro right away. Billionaires pay a tax rate half of what normal people do and that’s just on the wealth they don’t hide.
Any society is only as good as it treats its’ criminals. I want beggars and vandals to be arrested. I also want incarceration to be ethical rehabilitation with every opportunity; people leaving with as much money as they work for; free assisted living for those who can’t or won’t work.

Can you guess where the money is ?
Is the reason France "can't" fund public services that the gov't is investing in data centres (v low employment) and armaments for foreign wars?

France spends more on social services than any other nation in Europe...yet, its currently ablaze....why?

People demand more, and when they don't get it...they resort to violence.

Those datacenters are not on fire...its the nice shops and schools.

Crazy, right?...or should I say crazy left.../s

Nice explanation!
Back in *my* day, when we couldn't get food,
we ate the bark of trees, and small rocks, and our own kids,
but "nooo - you guys are too *fancy* for that"... 🙄
...and you may think that that was a joke,
but no, listen to me - "this is not a mask":
A great #famine is coming, probably hitting the world in 2027.
Do not blame your government for it.
The price of your food increasing
comes from Russian and the US.
Some of you will die.
Others will wish you did.

Hi
It’s almost as if we should all decide as a society to not have a society based on Debt. That seems like it would fix the problem.
Protesters are claiming their rights to better working conditions and education because this system is rolled by bankers . Who always get support for government any mistakes they do but never send the lift back!!
Good explainer.
