It's plain as day that the rise of fascism is a global issue as politicians look for any excuse to snoop on our conversations. Here in the US, that often looks like legislative efforts to “protect kids” or “stop crime” that actually make us all less safe by weakening end-to-end encryption.

That's why we need to tell lawmakers to preserve these tools rather than trying to weaken them. They should be focusing on comprehensive privacy legislation instead.
