Data centres make energy transition and climate action harder. We already aren't seeing enough renewable getting built- now we need EVEN MORE of it to meet rising demand. Listen to my full interview w/ The Maybe here: www.themaybe.org/podcast/the-...

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to literally copy it, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

A new post + vid for you, for the Klimakultur blog, on a WILD new survey that shows Norwegian society overestimates Equinor's renewable energy sales by an extremely massive amount It is a shocking demonstration of fossil fuel marketing prowess -->>> www.klimakultur.no/nyheter/equi...

So damn nice to speak with @alixdunn.com at @themaybe.org about the very real, very physical consequences of an uncontrolled data centre boom on the habitat keeping us all alive :) Podcast: www.themaybe.org/podcast/the-... Youtube: youtu.be/8lU0j_oJHqo Go watch/listen ❤️

I have become pretty obsessed with why people - including many climate and renewable advocacy groups - keep insisting that "data centres will drive the energy transition" Here is a ~5,000 word essay I wrote on my blog that digs into why this keeps happening -->>> ketanjoshi.co/2026/08/14/p...

ONLY ONE WEEK until Norway's second ever Petroganda Festival: this time, to be held directly next to Norway's famous pro-oil ONS festival, in Stavanger! Please enjoy this clip of me presenting last year's Petroganda awards :) And come join us if you can!! www.klimakultur.no/nyheter/petr...

"In a documented case in 2025, a single data centre's power demand jumped by 400% in a quarter of a second during an AI training run, faster than a gas turbine can physically respond" Great IEA video on data centre energy issues -> www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M3M...

A brilliant explainer by the International Energy Agency (IEA) highlighting the very important difference between different AI types (traditional vs generative) -> Watch the full video here: www.youtube.com/@IeaOrg/videos

Hottest between 0200 to 0600 and coldest between 1900 to 2300. This is why I think generative AI is so actively harmful: no one gives a flying fuck anymore about whether this stuff is produced with care or quality. www.instagram.com/reels/Db0ESE...

Oracle is sending 30 TRUCKS OF GAS A DAY to one of its data centres due to delayed gas pipeline 🩻 still waiting for AI to solve climate change🩻 www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/...

As I warned you: the superstar media darling AI quitter is explicitly agreeing with Trump and claiming climate threats are "overplayed". Effective altruism / rationalism is a cult of broken priorities that denies the threat of fossil fuels. This is why Anthropic loves burning gas for power.

This is a good illustration of how so much of AI theft isn't indirect (ie, data sucked into a model to train the chatbot) - it's actually direct copying, but enabled by GenAI. Of course it is: chatbots absolutely suck at creating good, new stuff.

HEY EVERYONE - NEW REPORT!!! NVIDIA is the largest company by market cap on the planet. But it hides key climate data, while claiming AI is going to be a 'net benefit' for climate. We (8 groups) put together the first ever broad critique of NVIDIA's climate record: ketanjoshi.co/2026/09/16/n...
