This is a good illustration of how so much of AI theft isn't indirect (ie, data sucked into a model to train the chatbot) - it's actually **direct** copying, but *enabled* by GenAI. Of course it is: chatbots absolutely suck at creating good, new stuff.

Anyone who follows ai bot accounts and not real artists should have to live next to a data center.
Clearly AI bots can’t generate comedic timing … yet. 😬
i just saw a bot doing Natalie Cuomo’s “i just love your dad more” bit earlier today and i gotta say that most creators can’t afford to have their work stolen

Every female AI bot is going to look like they were pulled from anime porn.

The funniest thing about that AI “comedian” is that it literally wore the same color combo of clothing… what?! It stole most of the mannerisms too 🤖 I can’t imagine that most of the bot’s followers aren’t also… bots
"Largest labor theft in human history..." is that excluding SLAVERY?!?!?
@miloedwards.bsky.social I fear the big booty baddie Dunkirk is coming
AI steals content, and then bots follow each other. So the big companies are paying themselves? Make it look like they have real followers?
Idk man, the largest theft of human labor was probably the global slave trade.
That's not what the phrase means, and really? You're going to bean soup this?

Yes, slavery was the biggest atrocity in human history that wasn't an actual genocide... But these are two different issues.
This same AI that can't even copy jokes well is the one writing a lot of the code we rely on, for everything. Safety included.

I don't know why people abdicated their role right away to AI. Hopefully they're right and nothing bad will happen...

The fact that they use porn-sculpted bodies of women makes it all the worse IMO.
Fucking lamest dystopia ever
Crappy AI with elephantiasis of breasts and buttocks can't even land the punchline correctly. What a clown world we live in.
tbh I thought the pop-up "reporter" was the AI at first
One of the worst parts of AI is that it took over everything that we love to create and consume and none of the toil we despise being forced to do.
Had no idea! The presenter is right though - the AI comedians are NOT original!
I’ve thought about this a lot recently, I remember when photoreal portrait generation was new the headlines would all be like “this person doesn’t exist” when in all likelihood the generator had just spit out a copy of a real photo of a real person and they were just too lazy to track them down.
genuinely did a spit take at the "AI stole my outfit" part hoooly shit
When I first saw it, I thought he was making a joke to mock the theft a little, but NOPE, she was wearing his outfit

Textbook “adding insult to injury” moment
In a sense, is the machine transcribing the audio of a joke and then text to speeching it on a generated avatar video?
They even stole that man's outfit.
You can teach "AI" what's funny, not how to be funny.

It's the same with every creative endeavour.

You can feed "AI" what people have already determined is funny, beautiful, scary, heartwarming, etc. and properly label it.

But it will never be able to understand why.

All it can do is regurgitate

Fucking depressing. How sad people are following and liking these bot accounts.
@n0nym0us.bsky.social · 21/10/2026 20:30
A lot of them are other bot accounts. Bot accounts are programmed to follow back. Sometimes this results in whole communities of chatbots spamming each other and ripping off ad revenue with no humans actually involved past writing a prompt.
Digital Darwinism:
AI is simply amplifying the “creator” as a lazy føkking monkey that only wants praise (paid) for aping and aping and aping anyone that has obtained some praise (and pay).
It is also happening in academia

bsky.app/profile/arbe...
And the kicker is that the joke is funnier when it's told by an actual human.

And yet somehow whoever told the AI bot to steal it and make it a hot brunette-esque girl with fetish-stylized hips speaking like she inherited half her DNA from a squirrel doesn't understand the irony
Anyone can tell a joke, but few can tell something funny.
They are not even as good.
They can't be. Unless you like one liners, a funny joke tends to be a performance. It can include one liners as part of the performance, but it feels the audience and flows with it. It speeds this part and skips this word or emphasises that and draws focus here, all on the fly and remembering the...
The joke is the joke, but telling something funny, that’s a certain character.

You may fit a camel in a needle’s eye, but entering that ancient proverb into an AI app, its LLM is most likely to go sucking itself through a packet of Camel filters.

And of course replacing the male comedian with an extremely curvy female avatar who is even wearing a more revealing version of the same clothes as him
Mer @waketosleep.bsky.social · 07/10/2026 18:16
While it simultaneously butchers the punchline in both content AND delivery
Steve @stevewmobb.bsky.social · 06/10/2026 17:09
I just hope the AI bots followers are also AI
Doesn't matter if it results in money coming in to the account owner
I thought that was the general idea to begin with, given who stick their names to AI trademarks, and the business models of so-called “intellectual” property rights they have lobbied successfully to apply to trickle up funds per use from whoever provides models for payment from real consumers

So the AI users are going to feed our original work directly into the chatbot and make it different enough to avoid detection, rather than using chatbot output trained on our work.

Eg - recently, I found out Electrek was just copying my blog posts for profit on their website, to run ads against.
Ketan Joshi (@ketanjoshi.co)
WTF is this - @fredlambert.bsky.social from @electrek.co just ripped my post and reworded it? And even generated some garish slop to use as a header?? Did he do this manually or did a chatbot just do…
I have just unfollowed Electrek out of solidarity.

Even your plagiariasm machine isn't good at the work of doing plagiarism
